This course explores strategic management and planning in a tourism context. Using both a theoretical and practical approach, students examine the concepts of strategic planning and competitive strategy and how they can be successfully applied by tourism organizations in an increasingly complex and global tourism environment.

Based on organizational goals for new products or product diversification, students will conduct secondary market research to create a business plan you can implement in your organization. Research will be conducted using a variety of approaches, including:

  • Industry profile, trends and outlook
  • Target market analysis
  • SWOT and Competitive advantage analysis
  • Strategic Planning
