Is your organization looking to improve your communication efforts both verbal and nonverbal to attract your target audience? In this course students will assess or create marketing copy for your company to engage the younger generation. These students born in the early 2000s bring new ideas, approaches and voices to organizational culture.

The final project deliverable includes:

1. Executive summary of the project, connecting applications to communication principles studied in class.

2. A communication analysis of the project's goals and outcomes.

Project Examples

Requirements

Based on your company’s needs, students in groups of 5 will assess or develop informative and intriguing content that you can utilize to engage an audience or attract a new one in the age range of 14 to 19.

Content will be engaging, thought provoking and creative. Examples of materials that students can assess include social media, websites, previous blogs or article contents.

Project examples include but are not limited to:

  • Create written blogs or articles on topics that engage the youth generation
  • Assess verbal and nonverbal messages aimed at audiences in the 14 to 19 age range
  • Review and revamp written communication to attract a younger audience
  • Test and assess products designed for users in the 16 to 22 age range (e.g., mobile apps)
  • Students can review existing external communications and provide feedback
  • Provide recommendation on external communication to improve messaging
