Details

We are a website design agency who has created an all-in-one business solution for women entrepreneurs. The platform is using a proprietary drag and drop website builder that is easy to use. We provide clients with optional starter templates to create a base website that can then be customized.

We would like to collaborate with students to use the proprietary builder refresh the website templates so they are unique, and stylish as they are currently very basic template designs, that often repeat using slightly different color palettes. This will involve the student utilizing their creativity and technical skills by creating unique custom graphics, unique color palettes and font pairings, using lorem ipsum placeholder text, and writing CSS style code when necessary to achieve designs that cannot be done strictly with the builder.

There are several different steps for the students, including:

  • Getting to know the proprietary builder software
  • Having an intermediate understanding of CSS
  • Refreshing each starter template design with reworked layouts, unique custom graphics, unique color palettes and font pairings, using lorem ipsum placeholder text, and writing CSS style code when necessary.
  • Ensuring the refreshed template designs are mobile responsive
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • They understand how the proprietary builder software works
  • They have refreshed each of the starter templates, with re-worked layouts, used unique custom graphics, unique color palettes and font pairings, used lorem ipsum placeholder text, and have written CSS style code when necessary to achieve designs that cannot be done strictly with the builder.
  • They have ensured the refreshed templates are mobile responsive
  • The have demonstrated a good understanding of CSS by making customizations not available in the builder itself.

Bonus steps would include:

  • Copying some of their best work and extending the design to create a "premium" template for premium plan holders

Final deliverables should include:

  • Refresh starter template designs according specs above. There are 60 in total, but do as many as possible
  • A review of the work completed over zoom
  • A final report outlining work completed, and any comments on the project scope.
