The project aims to digitize the community and ancestry information contained in a historical book about the the Gimli Saga community. This initiative seeks to preserve valuable cultural heritage by transforming physical text into a digital format, making it accessible to a wider audience.


The project will also provide learners with practical experience in digital archiving and data management, applying their classroom knowledge to a real-world context.

Our goal is to create a living, multilingual archive that honors the past, connects the present, and inspires the future—for Icelandic Canadians and communities around the world.
