Emel Tabaku is an impact-driven and dedicated art-activist, social entrepreneur, and youth advocate. Her mission is to amplify the voices of underrepresented youth through storytelling, mentorship, entrepreneurial skills training and innovative dialogue.
Her work centres around the values of intersectional equity, collaboration, inclusivity and care as she continues to build creative resilient communities.
With a significant fine arts background and 5+ years working in the non-profit sector on several community based arts-infused initiatives, Emel is now the Founder and Executive Director of her own non-profit organization, RCAD Initiative: Redefining Communities through Art + Design. She most recently completed internships as the Councillor's Aide at the Office of the Mayor, City of Toronto, and Community Outreach Worker at HOUSE Canada.
She is a Master of Public Policy candidate for the class of 2024 at the University of Toronto - Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy.

The Green Career Centre’s mission is to prepare underrepresented youth for green careers. With a focus on supporting BIPOC, newcomers and women, the Green Career Centre works by and for these communities to bridge the gap between equitable, accessible and transparent social and environmental employment opportunities. With a climate justice lens and through ongoing consultations and focus groups, the Green Career Centre bridges the disconnect between these underserved communities and green careers in sustainability.
