Geographic Information System Research Placements
Our students from Saskatchewan Polytechnic have a diversity of experiences and skills that they will be able to apply in focused research placements with your organization. The minimum duration of students projects begins at three months but will ideally last for longer than one year. The majors of our students include Mining, Geography, Agriculture, and GIS. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, experiences may take place virtually.

In this capstone project, student-consultants working in small groups will apply their knowledge in marketing to help your organization seize a marketing opportunity, develop a strategic marketing plan, or solve a current marketing challenge. The students will use marketing research, communications planning, strategy, and marketing best practices to create a report and presentation.
Graphic Communications
GRPH 208 – Digital Illustration 2
Through their studies, our students from Saskatchewan Polytechnic have gained a thorough understanding of advanced level techniques in Adobe Illustrator. Students have examined advanced level tools within Illustrator to create technically sound vector artwork. Our students will examine and implement industry standard best practices for vector artwork creation while working with your company. By the end of the project, students will have ideally created advanced level vector graphics for output, and for use within digital and print-ready files.

Students have covered a broad range of topics widely implemented in real world issues, including the discussion of concepts, theories, basic techniques and cases that will help them in working with your organization. Students will address a problem of your choosing, and perform an analysis to develop actionable recommendations that will improve efficiency, productivity and quality.

The backgrounds of students include the development of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in these areas: querying from existing data sources, outlining assumptions developing cost-benefits models, analyzing outcomes over multiple years separating assumptions from the model, and developing flexible formulae In sum, our students will provide their expertise to uncover insights into challenges or opportunities specific to your organization.

Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from Saskatchewan Polytechnic to be your student-consultants, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one main project over the course of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Students in this program will examine the strategic importance of procurement on the competitive success and profitability of a modern organization. They will use spend analytics to determine the cost of ownership, manage supplier relationships, and determine the cost of maintaining these relationships. Students will develop approaches to analyze an organization's contract management and category management strategies.
Virtual Co-op Work Term in Computer Engineering Technology W22
Bring on one or more students from Saskatchewan Polytechnic in the Computer Engineering Technology program to work virtually, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the work term period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Students are available for work terms starting January 7 – April, 31 2022 Due to COVID-19 restrictions, student placements will initially occur virtually. And we request that students complete a minimum of 320 hours either full time or part time. Students can complete up to 600 hours of work for your company. We request that some form of compensation is provided to the student. We are seeking paid experience via stipend, honorarium or hourly pay but are open to discussing unpaid opportunities as well. Typical hourly wage would be $19-30/hour.

Internet Of Things - Prototyping and Data Collection

This project will occur in the student's third semester of study. They will be tasked with prototyping IoT hardware, writing python code, and securing the device. The device will need to collect data and store it in an online database. The data captured should be targeted towards solving a problem. The students will be asked to research your request and propose their solution. They will then build, code, prototype, and secure their device. The final stage of the project will be the data collection phase, where the students will collect data that can be used for analysis. During the data collection phase, revisions may be considered if the data types being collected need to be adjusted.

Media Production Consultancy
Content creation is an important but resource-intensive part of any organization’s promotional plan. In this project, students will work in multi-disciplinary teams to function as a media agency. They will produce digital and/or traditional media deliverables, based on your needs and industry opportunities.
Graphic Communications Placement
Bring on one or more students from the Graphic Communications Program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic to work with you as virtual interns, in project-based experiences. Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed to apply their skills in graphic communications design processes, virtual design tools, and critical design thinking.

In this project, students will bring with them the knowledge to prepare industry standard, digital and print-ready files for distribution within the graphic communications industry. Applying the fundamentals and strategies for creating long documents, they will create, output, and prepare a package for long documents such as an annual report or a magazine based your organization's needs.

Throughout the project, they will learn about the key marketing options regarding survival and success of the organization within a competitive and dynamic business environment. Do you have a product/service hardware and software design challenge you want to tackle? In this capstone project, student teams will apply knowledge you gained in the previous four semesters. They will conceive and design an original project that incorporates hardware and software related to your organization's challenge. They will research alternative designs, select appropriate strategies and defend your design choices in a final presentation. They will manage the project scheduling and costs to meet broad goals with minimal direction. They will design, construct and test a working prototype; including, a printed circuit board to illustrate the soundness of their design choices.
Intro: AI, Data Science, and Machine/Deep Learning

Do you have a business problem that you'd like to solve with data? Do you want to make smart predictions about your customers? In this project, students in the Computer Science program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic Artificial Intelligence course will address a problem of your choosing by applying analytics models, methodologies, and tools learned in their program. Teams will work on an end-to-end machine learning solution, from problem formulation to deployment. By the end of the course, our students will provide a solution to your firm. The students can work on hands-on projects that will involve Data Science, Machine Learning, and/or Deep Learning.
